Woman In Tears, Reunited With Stolen Husky After 2 Years

When this broken-hearted woman finally reunited her dog after more than two years, there was no dry eye in the room. Although the Husky suddenly disappeared and was nowhere to be found, Kameroun Mares never lost hope. Fortunately, her story has a very happy ending!

Kameroun met Semper Fidelis many years ago when the charming dog was still a small puppy. A woman was fighting for her life with her horrific form of cancer and all she needed was her furry companion to comfort her. The name of the dog, which means “always faithful” in Latin, reflects his character, who is always faithful and very lovable. He was the dog Kameroun had always dreamed of.

The lovely duo was inseparable and everything seemed perfect. But in 2016, something terrible happened. Kameroun traveled to California for her treatment and it was very difficult to bring her dog, so she left Semper with her roommate. Unfortunately, after some time she got a call saying that Semper was gone. The poor woman was devastated.

As you can imagine, Kameroun did her best to find the Semper. She shared online advertisements, posted flyers all over the city, and asked her friends and neighbors for help, but Semper was nowhere to be found. But nevertheless, the woman did not lose her hopes and she continued to seek him. Eventually, she decided to hire a private detective. At this point, things took a strange turn.

“For a year, I kept searching while in California, posting up fliers via pet sites, calling 15 vet places around were I used to live over there about him, calling the humane societies about him, shelter,” Kameroun told THE DODO.  “When [I] asked Ana Campos for more help, she offered to recheck her AKC Reunite chip. So she went to Humane Society in May 2017 and they checked online… That’s when she found out a year earlier, on April 11, 2016, a woman added her name to Semper’s chip.

Apparently, Semper was microchiped a second time, but without a previous check to see if he had microchip. Then the adorable Husky was for sale online for $200. In fact, that’s why no one couldn’t find him. Finally, after more than two long years of tears and hope, Kameroun and Semper are about to meet again in an incredibly moving reunion.

“I see it as an extension of myself and my heart,” says Kameroun. “I’m so happy to have him in my arms again!”

In the end, Kameroun found out that was her ex-roommate the one that sold the dog, in the firs place. “He was stolen and sold by her roommate 2 1/2 years ago,” Ana Campos wrote on Facebook. “She was told he was lost on April 30, 2016. But on April 11, 2016 the buyer added their name to his AKC Reunite ‘registered chip’. They registered this registered chip on Petkey pets instead. Petkey pets did not bother to see if he was chipped already.”
