9 abandoned ducklings are ‘adopted’ by labrador, who instantly melts the internet’s  heart

Fred, a Labrador retriever of ten years, resides in Mountfitchet Castle near Stansted, England. After becoming the father of nine orphaned ducklings, he gained to prominence as a devoted and kind pup. The duckling’s mother left last week, leaving them alone. Fred took on the task of caring for the ducks. To keep them warm, he snuggled up close to them. Because they can sense Fred’s tender care and comfort, the ducklings welcomed their strange-looking new mother and climbed all over him.

They also take naps on the lawn with Fred whenever possible. The castle staff is hopeful that Fred will be able to continue providing this level of attention for a few more weeks until they are old enough. By then, the ducks will be self-sufficient and ready to start a new life on the castle grounds.

It’s strange that Fred adopted ducklings but did not adopt other Labradors. Anyway, he did a fantastic job, and he is now delighted to be a stay-at-home father to nine baby ducklings.

The ducklings follow Fred around and stay with him all day. This video has gone viral, and as you watch it, you can sense their fatherly love for them.
