A GERMAN SHEPHERD WAS FOUND ALIVE AFTER BEING LOST AT SEA FOR 5 WEEKS

Meet Luna, a real-life dog castaway who was reunited with her owner after spending a full five weeks at sea!
The German shepherd and husky mix, who was with her owner Nick Haworth when she fell from a fishing boat off the coast of San Diego, California, was lost.

Nick and a military crew spent days looking for Luna in the area of St. Clemente Island after receiving a report of her disappearance.
Luna, however, was reported to have perished in the water.

Five weeks later, as they came for work at the Naval Accessory Landing Field on St. Clemente Island, employees saw a dog on the side of the road.

Since domestic animals were not permitted on the island, this didn’t seem right. However, it turned out that this stray was no ordinary dog—it was Luna!

“She was simply sitting there wagging her tail,” Sandy DeMunnik, a Navy public events police officer, said.

Luna seems to have made it to the coast and had been subsisting on rats and dead fish until she was rescued.
Luna was healthy and unharmed, although being a bit underweight.

Luna was flown right to Colorado where Luna will certainly be collected by her human Nick’s friend who will certainly take care of her till Nick is back from his journeys.

Luna was even given a new dog tag from the Navy, it reads ‘For Luna, keep the faith.’
